Disabling AI was born in late 2024 through research as part of my MA in Disability Studies at the City University of New York. (Which is a super cool program you can learn more about at this link: https://sps.cuny.edu/academics/graduate/master-arts-disability-studies-ma.

As of 2026, Disabling AI is now a platform for discussing how to understand and remove ableism from AI through better data. And better design.

Note: We’ll be sharing a lot of AI imagery here. They are meant for discussion, not as the way we wish the world to be.
